With increasingly stringent legislation to protect the environment which puts pressure on hydraulic system users to prevent leakage, an effective way to achieve this, is to continuously monitor the level of fluid in the system reservoir. Most system reservoirs have a sight glass indicating the level of the fluid over a very limited range. With BUHLER Industries extensive range of level / temperature probes you have peace of mind you’re your investment (system fluid) is being maintained.
The Nivotemp range combines the control of both liquid level and temperature. The mounting flange has dimensions according to DIN 24557 part 2 and fits on the six hole 73mm interface used for breather filters around the world, thus making installation simple and cost effective. The level contacts are bi-stable and adjustable, for proactive leakage control the unit can be equipped with continuous output of 4-20 mA.
The Nivovent range offers in addition to reservoir ventilation and level control, the measurement of the liquids temperature.
The Nivovent tank top connection is standardised according to DIN 24557 part 2. Dimensions which are already in use worldwide, making it possible to update existing systems to incorporate Nivovent technology with as little effort as possible.
Level switch for external mounting
The control of liquid in reservoirs, gear boxes and other complex constructions often required an externally mounted indicator and means of control.
A stable operating temperature is essential for precise and trouble free operation of hydraulic an lubrication systems, hence the requirements laid down in DIN 24346 for the provision of adequate controls.
Modern processor controlled systems can cope with this problem by regulation of the operating temperature within a very narrow span when supplied with accurate, highly responsive signals.
Buhler Industries has a wide range of temperature sensors which can be mounted to the top tank or side wall. The “wet” part remains in the reservoir whilst the “dry” part can be inspected thus eliminating the need to drain the reservoir.
